The Fuzzies

Bengal kittens go through a stage that is referred to as “the fuzzies”. This term is given to the hairs that grow out and hide or dull the kittens’ markings. This is an inherited trait from their wild ancestors as mother nature’s way of camouflaging them. They begin the process around 3 weeks of age and it slowly begins to fade around 3 months. Your cats spots will continue to look more vibrant and beautiful throughout their first year of life.

Glitter

Bengal cats also exhibit a unique trait that is called glitter. The cats fur (especially in the sunlight) will sparkle. This is due to translucent hollow hair shafts that catch and reflect the light.
